dy/dx labs
Understanding change,
shaping response.
Technology is reshaping how people work, stay healthy, and earn from the land. dy/dx builds tools for navigating those changes, starting from the field.
Why dy/dx?
In calculus, dy/dx describes the rate of change — how one thing shifts in response to another. We borrowed the idea because it captures what we care about.
Y is the macro shift: AI reshaping work, climate rewriting agriculture, urbanisation changing how communities access health. X is everyday life — the people, routines, and systems that have to absorb those shifts.
dy/dx sits at that boundary. We study how large-scale change reaches daily life, and we build tools that help people navigate it — not with hype, but with grounded, practical design.
What we're building
Each product begins with a real worker — an accountant, a counsellor, a farmer — and the decisions they make in a given day.
How we think
We say what we mean. No jargon, no filler.
We start from real problems, not trends.
If it doesn't work in the field, it doesn't count.
We design for real behaviour, not ideal users.
Good tools get used. We optimise for adoption, not features.
We share what we know and what we don't.
Resources
We are dy/dx.
We're a small product studio based in India, working across finance, health, agriculture, and education. Our team has backgrounds in design, engineering, and fieldwork. We share a belief that good technology should feel obvious, not clever.
We work closely with the people who'll use what we build. That means spending time in the field, watching how things actually work, and designing for context, not just screens.
If you're working on a hard problem in one of the areas we care about, we'd love to hear from you.
